Title: Scales of Sovereignty
Read time 10-15 minutes.
When the scales of your soul tip toward truth, what must fall away?
On October 21, the Libra New Moon arrives, and so does my solar return. A New Moon on my birthday is a rare gift, a cosmic reset button that says: Start again, but this time from sovereignty. The very next day, Neptune retrogrades back into Pisces.
For many, retrogrades feel like delays or confusion. But for me, Neptune in retrograde has always felt like a comforting old friend. I was born with Neptune retrograde, so I live with that inward pull, constantly dissolving illusions, questioning surface truths, and taking the deep dive into what lies beneath. This has made me good at intuition and my profession of information security. When Neptune drifts backward, I feel more at home and more able to hear the whispers behind the noise.
This New Moon in Libra asks me to reimagine who I am becoming. Neptune’s return to Pisces asks me to trust the quiet spaces, the liminal zones, the truths that are not always logical but are always felt. Together, they weave a story of rebirth through balance, sovereignty, and surrender. But before I guide you further, I feel called to share how this energy has been moving through my own life and how, in full disclosure, I am ready for clarity and truth. I am prepared for the fog of illusion to finally drift away.
In September, on the very day I returned from my medical leave for hand surgery, I was politely informed — through a scripted message from my manager — that my corporate role had been eliminated due to a restructure. Had I exceeded performance expectations? Yes. Had I saved the company millions of dollars by designing new processes, expediting timelines, and reducing external dependencies? Also yes.
Through follow-up questions, I discovered it was not tied to my work, attitude, or communication. It had nothing to do with AI either; I had recently earned a certification in AI Business Strategy from Johns Hopkins’ Whiting School of Engineering. I proposed several innovative processes to improve efficiency. It came down to one thing: somewhere up the chain, either my value was not seen, or it simply did not matter.
I had sensed the layoff before it came. Weeks earlier, I voiced my concern and was promptly gaslit and told that I had “an overactive imagination” and was “worrying about things that would never happen.” As a strong clairvoyant, my intuition was unfortunately correct despite feedback from seeking reassurance from others. My inner knowing had been clear, even if inconvenient. In transparency, my manager had not been involved in the decision regarding my position elimination. I would be lying if I said there wasn’t a small spark of satisfaction as I watched him struggle to deliver the news over Webex, eating every word he had previously dismissed.
Writing this doesn’t bring me joy, nor does it change what happened. I had been unhappy for a while, and after asking the universe for change just the day before, the response came swiftly — removing what no longer served me. The point of sharing this is not pity, but presence. I am ready to begin again — from sovereignty. I am ready for my scales to be rebalanced after being tipped toward overgiving in a place that did not honor my contributions.
What does that mean? I am not entirely sure. But I know this: I am excited for what comes next, and open to exploring what my future can look like when it is built on truth, freedom, and self-respect. Perhaps that’s what this Libra New Moon truly offers, the courage to begin again from balance and truth. The reminder that when the old structure falls away, it isn’t loss; it is liberation.

As my Solar Return opens, I feel in my bones the architecture of my Human Design shifting into clearer view. Neptune’s return isn’t just cosmic mist — it’s alchemizing how my inner authority hears itself again. This year, I invite you to sense into where your design is open, soft, and longing for clarity. Let Neptune teach your undefined parts to rest; let the New Moon birth your strategy in strength.
If you know your Type and Authority, reflect: How is my decision process changing this cycle?
