Tarot Tuesdays: #1 Intro to Tarot

Originally published on October 3, 2023 -Archived as part of my Sacred Tools and Tarot & Compass content

Psst: This was one of my very first tarot posts. Long before True Path had a name or a compass, I was already deep in the cards—exploring symbols, meanings, and the soul threads that run beneath them. I’ve left this piece mostly as-is, as a breadcrumb from where it all began.

Tarot Tuesdays will be returning soon with fresh insights, guest readers, and a deeper dive into the decks that shape us.

Until then… enjoy this peek into my origin story. 🌙

Friends, welcome to Tarot Tuesdays, a brand-new series. Throughout these brief sessions, I will discuss various topics, including card meanings, uses, layouts, different decks, prevalent myths, and my personal experience with these esoteric instruments.

Whether you are a novice or an experienced reader, my goal is to share knowledge so you can discover or deepen your inner talents and use the Tarot & oracle cards to enlighten your life and enrich the lives of those around you. By expanding your awareness of the cards and offering details you hadn't considered, I am excited to welcome you on this incredible adventure!

If Tarot/ and intuitive reading are new to you, it's easy to understand that traditional tarot decks include 78 cards with major and minor arcana pronounced ar-kay-nah. The minors consist of 56 cards, divided into four different suits. These cards, sometimes called pip cards, affiliate with the ace through king playing cards associated with the traditional suits of hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds. The court cards represent transitory things or persons in our environment and are connected to the mundane events in our lives.

The major arcana consists of 22 cards, numbered zero through 21. These cards carry more significant impact and influence because they represent key life events or themes for the querent (the person asking questions or seeking clarification).

Next week, I'll provide insight into the most popular (and my least preferred) deck, the Rider-Waite.

Until next time,  let your inner compass guide you. 🧭
